Pěnčín is located around 5km south-east of Jablonec nad Nisou, on a ridge above the right bank of the Žehrovník brook.

The first record of Pěnčín dates back to 1592. At that time the village belonged to the Svijany estate, owned by Jaroslav of Vartenberk.

There are plenty of cultural and natural monuments in the environs of Pěnčín. Pěnčín is situated in a nice varied landscape with views of the wide valley, and therefore it is a good tourist destination.
