Here you continue along the red tourist trail until you come to a road where you turn right. You will get to the start of the toboggan run, from there follow the blue along the toboggan run past Breuer's spring, cross the main road and continue along the blue around the cemetery to the sports hall (ZŠ Smržovka) to the main road to Jablonec Tanvald, along Kamenice back to the information center. (The variant listed here on the map is up to the Nisanka lookout tower by tourist signs, to Smržovka and from there to Luční to Tanvald)
Attractions on the route:
The rock lookout, which was repaired in 1853 on a 15 m high rock and equipped with railings by the owner of one of Tanvald's spinning mills, Johann Mayer. His wife Therezia liked the view from this place down - to the basin formed by the confluence of the rivers Kamenice and Desná, so the amorous factory owner gave the lookout at a height of 623 meters above sea level the name Terezina výšina. However, the term Terezínka is used more often. The locals also have the name Šouf for this popular excursion place - according to the German robber knight Schoff, who allegedly hid in these places in his fortress in the first half of the 15th century and undertook adventurous expeditions from there. Another version derives the name Šouf from the German Schafstein, ie Sheepstone.
The dominant feature of the Tanvald-Hamer ridge is the rocky peak of Muchov (787 m above sea level). A level ridge path, made of stones before the First World War by the Jablonec Mountain Association, passes through the jagged top of the rock, and the renewed Hřebenovka route currently passes through it. At the top of Muchov, there has been a metal tower of a telecommunications converter for several decades. From the top there is a beautiful view of Smržovka, the Tanvald basin, the valley of the lower Kamenice, Velké Hamry and Plava. According to local legends, the well-known Jizera Mountain spirit of Muhu has its hiding place in Muchov. It burned down in 1937 and an attentive visitor in the shade of the forest can still recognize the remains of the foundations of the building.
The Černa studnice lookout tower, which lies on an 869 m above sea level high peak and is visible from almost the entire Jizera Mountains and the surrounding area. The project was commissioned in 1885 by the architect Robert Hemmrich and the building itself by the builder Corazza. The demanding construction of the entire mountain complex took about a year. The fact that the builder Corazza used up to three tons of granite blocks on 160 centimeters thick walls also seems admirable. With its 26 meters, Černá Studnice is one of the highest stone lookout towers in the Jizera Mountains. A total of 91 steps lead to its top and through a glass door you gradually ascend to four galleries, from which there is an impressive view. The lookout tower offers a circular view of the surrounding peaks of the Jizera Mountains with many lookout towers (Královka, Tanvaldský Špičák, Bramberk), as well as Ještěd, Ralsko, Kozákov, Trosky Castle, Bezděz Castle and Sněžka, with other Krkonoše peaks. There is a nice restaurant and a children's playground by the lookout tower.
RACING SNOW TRACK SMRŽOVKA The first toboggan run was established in Smržovka as early as 1912. Its runway led from the top of Černá studnice to the Karel Roigek factory. At that time, however, they raced in several places and the local sledders achieved several international successes in the interwar period. The golden age of the Smržovka sleigh came mainly in the 1960s and at the beginning of the 1970s. A 1020 m long racetrack with an elevation gain of 82 m has been standing here since 1972 - 1975. A rarity is a circular 400-degree turn. The maximum speed that was measured here is 103 km per hour, on average it is driven at a speed of 79.6 km per hour. At present, there is a lot of training here during the summer and winter and there are also races.
