Krompach is located around 7km north-east of Cvikov. It is a mountain village lying between Hvozd and Plešivec on an old commercial road to Žitava, near the border with Saxony. The village consists of the following parts: Krompach, Valy and Juliovka.

Before 1549 it was known as a glassmaking settlement, but the glass foundry was closed after the year 1700. Later home weaving started to develop there; in the 19th century, the surroundings became a holiday area.

Nowadays Krompach is mostly used for holidays. As far as cultural monuments are concerned, there is the Fourteen Holy Helpers Church in the village and Baroque statues from the 17th and 18th centuries not far from the village. Several houses of rural architecture have been preserved in the village as well
