A member of the fire department in Košťálov, an enthusiastic collector and an old resident of Čikvásky, Mr. Václav Vít, has collected and restored fire equipment with the financial assistance from the municipality of Košťálov.
The exhibits include a horse-drawn manual fire engine - a lightweight four-wheel horse-type hydrophone with accessories from 1893, a portable PS8 fire engine that was made between 1952 and 1953. A two-stroke, two-cylinder 31 hp engine cooled with water from the pump is still functional and you can also see auxiliary equipment, such as climbing ladders, helmets, water buckets, fire extinguishing flaps, hand held and hemp hoses with couplings, connectors and a winch.
The Fire Museum is located in the middle of the village of Čikvásky, next to the chapel. It is open daily subject to previous telephone arrangements. For anyone who is interested, please contact Mr. Zumra at +420 606 754 662 or Mrs. Vítová at +420 728 333.642.
Next to the museum is a gazebo where you can sit.
