In Podmoklice u Semil, you can find the former weaving and sizing mills of the Melich family.

In 1893, Vincent Melich and Peter Skrbek built a weaving mill that had 117 looms and in 1897, they added a sizing mill. In 1903, Melich and Son had the factory expanded and the number of looms grew to 544. In 1924, the factory was sold in an auction and the new owner was Ladislav Bednář from Vamberk. During this period, starching and painting mills were added and the machinery was modernized.

The original building has not been preserved and was replaced by a business centre.
