First, Vincent Novotný built a custom jewellery cutting shop in Příkrý and later had it turned into a cotton weaving mill. The weaving mill included 40 looms and a sizing mill. In 1900, Vincenc started V.Novotny & Söhne. The old weaving mill was destroyed by fire and a new weaving mill was built in 1909 that has been preserved to date. It was a ground-floor building with beam structures and contained 314 looms. In the 1920s, the weaving mill had three owners: Vincent, Rudolf and Eduard Novotný. During that period, the weaving mill employed 240 weavers from the area. In 1927, the factory changed owners and was bought by Dr. Josef Horák. Dr. Horák was the owner of the Matoušův textile factory in Benešov and together with the factory in Benešov, the weaving mill became part of the Muatner Group in 1932. The area of the former weaving mill has been sensitively repaired.
Currently, it is the seat of CHALKO.
