The water tower is located in the English neo-Gothic Sychrov Château.

The water tower was built in the neo-Gothic style in 1891 according to a design by František Wondren. This neo-Gothic tower replaced the original water tower, whose appearance is not known. The water tower was an integral part of the water system in the château area. Water was brought to it by a pump from the Mohelka River and from there, it was distributed into the château park.

The operation of the water tower ended in 1953 when the château was allowed to be connected to the public water distribution system.
