The Frýdlant Castle and Chateau is one of the most frequently visited historic buildings in the Czech Republic.

In the course of time, the originally Gothic castle was rebuilt into a large Renaissance chateau with abundant decorations and great and extremely valuable collections. The historical houses in front of the castle are noteworthy as well. In 1800, the very first castle museum and chateau in Central Europe was opened in Frýdlant. Expositions: the castle kitchen, stove and grill (still working), copper and tin equipment and dishes. In 1995, a new display - pipes - was added.

The exhibition in the castle museum is focused on the Thirty Years War and the person of Albrecht of Valdštejn.

The Armoury (another new exposition) presents more than 1,000 hunting and military weapons.

Guided Tour 1 comprises the castle courtyard with sgraffito decorations and the castle interiors (the Knights' Hall, servants' uniforms, collection of weapons, former office, unique collection of pipes, etc.), St Ann's Chapel and chateau interiors (Countess's rooms, bathroom, children's bedrooms, Count's room, representative rooms, dining room, kitchen rooms) - duration 90-120 minutes.

Guided Tour 2 comprises a large collection of historic weapons that are installed in the way was usual in the 19th century (original display cases and stands) - duration 60 minutes.
