The Panorama lookout tower on the top of Černá Hora near Jánské Lázně is based on a former funicular pillar.

If you go by the funicular from Janské Lázně to the top of Mount Černá Hora (1299 metres above sea level), you can climb 106 steps (elevation 21 metres) to the gallery of the steel structure - the lookout tower that was developed with use of the (not used) last but one support column of the original funicular. The tower is situated near the terminus station of the presently operated funicular. The gallery is four meters below the top and is accessible even in winter, in ski boots.

In good weather, you may enjoy the panorama of the Krkonoše and the Czech valley. If you use the installed binoculars, you can observe the people walking on the top of Mount Sněžka. From the platform, you may spot the Jeseníky, the Orlické Hory, the Českomoravská vrchovina, the dominants of the Český Ráj and the landscape in neighbouring Poland.

The lookout tower on the top of Černá Hora is open all year round.
